GRAND EAST ANGLIA RUN 2014

6th May 2014

WGEAR 2014hat an amazing time I had on the Tuesday Market Place on Sunday.  I’ve hosted GEAR for the past 9 years bringing all the flavour of the event live to listeners on KLFM and have loved every minute of it.  It’s getting bigger and bigger all the time too which means great things for our town but also even more money is raised for worthwhile charities such as the Norfolk Hospice Tapping House, Scotty’s little Soldiers and the Air Ambulance to name but three.   The determination, the fancy dress, the friendship, the effort and the thousands of runners make this one of my favourite events to cover, it really is quite inspiring to see so many people running 10k on a Sunday Morning.  I couldn’t even run the length of the start/finish straight let alone 10k so my hat goes off to each and everyone who took part.  Whilst interviewing the runners my path took me along the route participants walked to collect their medal and go back to the Tuesday Market Place and their families, this turned into a running joke as I walked past the finish marshals about 10 times much to their amusement at the idea I had completed the course over and over again.
