Dualling the A47 is now the top transport priority for the eastern region.
The MP for Mid Norfolk has told KLFM that he is confident that progress will soon be made
The Chancellor George Osborne is expected to mention the A47 in his Autumn Statement on December the 3rd.
George Freeman says that now the A11 has been dualled south of Norwich he's hoping that we can expect good news.
“I believe the Chancellor is listening, the Prime Minister has been up and heard us and I’m confident that this year we’ll see some progress, with an announcement from the Department For Transport that the time has come to start upgrading this key road.
All the signals we’re getting from the DFT are that he business case we’ve made is very compelling, and there’s a democratic case too. For many years this region has been paying into London and we haven’t had much back in terms of infrastructure.”
