Fear over fuel bill costs in West Norfolk
7:11am 7th October 2014
Over half of people who responded to a poll on KLFM's website have told us they're worried about paying their fuel bills this winter.
With the weather turning cooler this week, lots of us are reaching for our heating controls for the first time since the spring.
But 54% of people said they very worried about paying for energy. Just over 25% said they'd probably be ok, and 19% said they weren't bothered.
Dan Alchin is a Policy Manager at Energy UK -they run the home heat helpline. He says people who are worried shouldn't panic.
“There’s a wide range of support out there to help people, including the warm home discount, which is £140 pounds off your energy bill this winter if you are on a low income.
There’s the priority services register and there may be free or subsidised insulation or boiler repairs available.”
