Call to Improve Terrington Junction on A17
7:43am 29th October 2014
After a fatal crash on the A17 close to Terrington St Clement, councillors there are calling for a rethink of the Station Road Junction.
It happened at 5.15pm on Sunday when a Peugeot turned right into Station Road.
The biker, who was heading towards King's Lynn at the time, was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital but later died of his injuries.
Now borough councillors are calling for the County Council and local MPs to come and have a look at the junction where it happened...
“This junction has a historic record of incidents and fatalities.”
That's Terrington St Clement Borough Councillor Sheila Young.
Highways, the county council, and MPs Elizabeth Truss and Henry Bellingham visited the crossing and discussed what could be done to improve it back in 2008.
Local Councillor Peter Cousins was there. He's calling for them to take another look:
“I would call for the cabinet member for transport to come from County and meet the MPs, chairman of the parish council, and get the media there as well to hear what they say. Then if they make promises, they can be held accountable.”
