West Norfolk Man Raises £10k in a Day

Queen Elizabeth hospital

8:21am 3rd November 2014

A West Norfolk man has raised 10 thousand pounds in a day because of the care that staff at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital gave to his dying father.

Mark Southwell's father was helped on the Shouldham Ward, shortly before his death five years ago.

Mr Southwell says he has huge admiration for the staff there, and that inspired him to organise a charity Golf Day to raise as much as possible...

“[My Father] spent his last few weeks there and the staff cared so wonderfully for him, and were so sensitively supportive with friends and family as well. I think the people who staff these wards do a fantastic job. Considering the resources that they’ve given, they do a fantastic job with it.”
