The 14 year old girl was walking with friends on a footpath on waste ground between The Discovery Centre and Strikes Bowling Alley when a white Samsung Galaxy Ace was stolen from her.

It happened on Monday 23 January between 3.45pm and 3.55pm.

The mugger is described as being around 16 years old, skinny build, white, 5'8 tall, wearing a grey tracksuit top with the hood pulled up, blue jogging bottoms, dark coloured woollen gloves and white trainers.

The teenager is believed to have had a friend with him some distance away, who was possibly a little taller, white and of a similar age and build. This second youth had a dark coloured mountain bike with him and was wearing a black and white or blue and white hooded top.
