Armed robbery at Francis Wain jewellers in King's Lynn

News > KLFM News

A King's Lynn jewellers has been robbed.

Francis Wain on Norfolk street was attacked at 9.50am today.

Eyewitnesses say sledgehammers were used to smash windows.

Two men jumped out of a Silver Mercedes and grabbed jewellery in the window display.

People working in the shops nearby say the men were dressed in boiler suits with their faces covered.

Terry Barret works at the shop opposite and told our reporter Melanie Stewart-Smith;

"I was sitting doing some paper work when all of a sudden I heard a noise, I saw a car and it looked like it hit the building. I saw a lot of smoke and a lot of commotion. Then I came to the front of the store and I saw a guy with a sledge hammer, putting it through the window. We were scared and tried to call the police, take down the registration number and then lock our doors."

"It was like something out of a movie, you just did not know what was going on and your brain just didn't have time to work out what was happening. It's just not something you expect to happen in King's Lynn"

Police are looking for witnesses and have released this description of the men.

"The males are described as white males - one male was 6 foot tall, slim build with grey two piece tracksuit and hood, white scarf covering his face.

The second male is described as 5'8 - 5'10, average build, wearing a black long sleeved hoodie, with a grey short sleeved T-shirt over the top and black trainers with white soles. This male was carrying a small JD sports bag."
