The 1948 Olympic Torch will make a 170 mile round trip.

The torch will be carried by 164 people over four days, touring through 80 towns and villiages.

The torchbearersPaul ex olympian have been voted for by local communities and are aged between 14 and 60.

The Stroke Assiciation is supporting the event and raising money with buckets at the events.

Paul Evans is an ex olympian - he is the first torch bearer on the tour.

Chair of the West Norfolk Sports Council Geoff Sturgeon, said:

“The nation is gearing up to London 2012 and this is set to be a really momentous year for sports in the UK. We think the trail is a great way to link and bring local communities together to celebrate Olympic year and we hope lots of people will join us over the extended bank holiday.”

16 villages on the route will be holding special sports taster sessions, where people can try a range of sports for free.

The taster sessions are being organised by Active Norfolk.

Ellen Vanlint, Active Norfolk, said: "All the activities planned in West Norfolk sound fantastic. It's great we are able to deliver Village Games roadshows along the route to help celebrate the occasion. I'm sure it'll be a really fun-filled and exciting few days".

The 1948 Torch Trail is part of the Let’s Get Active 2012 campaign – a year-long campaign highlighting sports and activities in West Norfolk in Olympic year.
