Celtic moved a step closer to a league and cup domestic treble after reaching the quarter-finals of the Scottish Cup.

Neil Lennon's side beat Inverness 2-0 to book their place in the last eight of the competition.

Striker Georgios Samaras opened the scoring in the 33rd minute. Celtic captain Scott Brown added a second from the penalty spot in the second half after Gary Hooper was brought down by David Proctor.

The result extends Celtic's winning run to 15 games.

First Division strugglers Queen of the South drew 1-1 with Aberdeen. Scott Vernon scored an equaliser after Scott McLaughlin had put Queen of the South in front.

First Division leaders Ross County drew 1-1 at St Mirren.

Motherwell reached the last eight after a 6-0 win over Morton. Hibernian beat Kilmarnock 1-0 thanks to a goal from Eoin Doyle.
