Programming
Recent programming highlights include rallying hundreds of listeners to hunt for a dog trapped in car somewhere in Kings Lynn, despite the freezing fog and being 3 days before Christmas. This gave KL.FM some International exposure via SKY NEWS and had happy ending too. Father Christmas joined the presentation team on December 25th for a very special show in which he recounted the previous night and shared some amazing stories. We are also embarking on our biggest on-air promotion ever at the moment. Over an 8 week period we are going to give away a car. KL.FM 96.7 won the Radio Academy's Nations & Regions award for East Anglia's station of the year, two years running in 2004 and 2005, as well as being nominated for a Sony Award in 2004 for Station of the Year (under 300,000).
KL.FM 96.7 In The Community
KL.FM 96.7 was very pleased to help Dereham Twinkle for Christmas 2007. We heard that there was not enough funding to light up the market place and that the town would have been in the dark during the festive season. KLFM's Breakfast with Simon Rowe, and our very generous sales force got together to offer FREE airtime to match the value of any donation to the fund to make the light switch happen. £3000 was the target which was completely smashed along with offers of LIVE bands to perform, a FREE stage and of course the KLFM Roadshow at no cost whatsoever. And it's not just local charities that KL.FM 96.7 keenly supports; there are local sport teams too such as King's Lynn FC and the King's Lynn Stars speedway team.
