KLFM's News Editor running the London Marathon for the Norfolk Hospice

1st April 2019

News Editor Chris Craddock said:

" I lost my dad when I was 24 to terminal cancer so I know how tough it is watching a loved one go through a life-shortening illness.

Paul was so brave and so strong through it but it was really hard on all of us.

The Norfolk Hospice and the staff at Tapping House give families in West Norfolk the chance to make the most of those precious last moments together and I will never be able to find the words to tell you how much that means to families."

East Anglian Air Ambulance

1st March 2019

They've launched an ambitious plan to save more lives in Norfolk and beyond.

East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA) wants to become a 24/7 service by 2020.

The charity currently operates 365-days-a-year but not 24-hours-a-day.

This means that if an incident happened between midnight and 07:00 they can't fly out to help.

To reach their goal they need to raise an additional £1 million a year to fund the operation.

Find out how you can help by heading to their website.

King's Lynn Winters Night Shelter

1st February 2019

The King’s Lynn Winter Night Shelter offers shelter, hospitality and hope to rough sleepers.

It is an initiative of King’s Lynn Churches Together.

They provide a hot meal, a bed for the night, breakfast, company and a listening ear.

They rely on volunteers to help our co-ordinators run the shelter over three shifts: evening, night and breakfast.

In the winter of 2017-18 they were open for two nights a week and gave shelter to 45 people (up to 19 in a night), who would otherwise have been on the streets.

In 2018-19, they have the night shelter 7 nights a week, from November to March, based in The Old Music Hall at St Ann’s Fort.

Please contact them if you would like to volunteer or can help with funding.

The Purfleet Trust

3rd January 2019

We spoke to Chief Exec of the Purfleet Trust Joy.

She told us everyone in our community has been so generous over the festive season.

But sadly, homelessness is all year round.

The charity need your continued support throughout 2019 and beyond.

Winter can be a tough time of year for all of us but especially the homeless on our streets.

They'd really appreciate donations of:

  • Toiletries
  • Hats
  • Coats
  • Scarves
  • Socks

You can drop off any donations at the Purfleet Trust  at Pathway House, Austin Fields, King's Lynn PE30 1PH
