West Norfolk Mind

2nd March 2017

West Norfolk Mind are an independent local charity. They promote positive mental health and social inclusion within the community and provide a variety of resources for people with a mental health issue, their families and friends.

They aim to support people to build a meaningful life for themselves and inspire hope for recovery, with or without the continuing presence of mental health problems.

It is a specialist mental health charity providing services to local people who have direct or indirect experience of mental distress across West Norfolk. They do this in a variety of ways through both our Support and Recovery services.

The level of support that they provide varies from one person to another. If you have a mental health worker, social worker or CPN talk to them about using your Personal Budget and making a referral to them. Services can also be provided on a self funded basis.

Through their partnership in the Norfolk Wellbeing Service they can offer counselling to anyone over the age of 16 in Norfolk, who recognises that they may benefit from help to improve emotional wellbeing, stress, anxiety or low mood.

Their Carers Support service is open to anyone who is caring for someone with a mental health issue and needs some support themselves. They also run three successful social enterprises which are self funding and help people to experience the day to day workings of a business in a safe and supportive environment.

BusinessMind is their latest project and is their service for businesses. They work with businesses, employers, HR and related staff to maximise wellbeing in the workplace.

They have a coffee and crafting morning every Friday, with further details below:

They particularly focus on young people:

They have spaces available at their Heacham Day Centre on a Wednesday or Thursday. If you are interested in attending, please call 01485 572 707.

They also have an allotment project:
