Where has the Christmas Tree gone?

14th December 2018

It's fair to say if you are true Lynner you'll know that Christmas isn't officially Christmas until the Christmas appears on the North Lynn Silo and its lights are turned on.  Over the past few years it’s happened later and later, but this year with only eleven days to go it seems it might not happen at all.

Alida Brockwell When I grew up in north Lynn there was always Xmas decorations on the silo ready to go on for the 1st of December.

Sandra Jackman Auker Yrs ago my husband rendered the silo hanging of a cradle & my granddaughters think that the silo is his responsibility & that it's he's job to put the lights on lol so I'll give him a telling of &tell him to get he's finger out

Louise Hoar I heard the company gone bust or something so it’s not happening. Really really sad..

Terri-Leigh Hurst I remember being a child every start of December it would be up that’s when we all know Christmas 🎄 was round the corner 😍

Above are just some of the messages we've  been sent about the situation so far, it's also been great to know I'm not the only with the passion to make this happen as it seems some are even making calls on behalf, I've had phone calls about the same idea as this message below.

Alan Taylor I spoke to the port manager yesterday. Agrilink used have it and they went under earlier in the year. The building is no longer being occupied. It is a health and safety issue as it has been empty for so long. They are looking at getting it safe to put it up but unlikely this year sadly.

Fingers crossed!

Toy Appeal 2018

3rd December 2018

I can't believe the Toy Appeal is already one week old for 2018!  It's been amazing and we are already on target to equal or even better last year’s record breaking collection.

Thank goodness we've had our awesome Landrover Discovery to collect them with, however it was a squeeze on Friday when shoppers at Morrison’s in King's Lynn donated 345 toys in just two hours.

Toy Appeal 2018

Please help us continue to grow our pile of goodies for boys and girls in our area who if wasn’t for your generosity may not receive anything whatsoever.

Find us today at Morrison in Downham Market between 11-1.
