Dog attack in King's Lynn

3rd December 2015

I woke up this morning to read about the horrific dog attack that occurred on Hospital Walk in King's Lynn on Tuesday.

Firstly my heart goes out to the 80 year old lady who's two dogs will killed in the incident and my next thought is how and why did this happen? I don't want to point the finger at any breed of the dog as I truly wonder why the dogs were not on a lead in a public place, especially taking into account their size and the fact there were four of them.

I have been at the hands of a vicious dog attack myself in which I spent the most upsetting and horrific moments of my life trying to remove a Pit Bull from my first dogs head many years ago.  Unprovoked the attacking dog sunk his teeth into my dog's head, the head of the creature I loved more than anything in the world, my best mate, my buddy, my everything. I screamed and screamed I didn't know what to do, neighbours came to help as we all tried to pull the dog off of mine, it was awful.  After about five minutes which felt more like 5 hours we did separate them, nothing happened to the attacking dog but my Alsatian had to have surgery which I'm pleased to say he came through and then went on to live a very happy doggy life.

The dogs have been placed in kennels and the owners arrested and bailed.
