Macmillan Centre, Queen Elizabeth Hospital is OPEN!

In January 2012 I began a campaign on my show to help the Macmillan Centre at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King's Lynn buy some much needed Chemotherapy chairs for patients to receive their treatment.  Each chair cost £750 and it was my aim to get enough money to buy two with donations made by listeners over the weeks and months that were to come, however to my astonishment we had over £1500 after just one show and to date have received nearly £3000!  As with everything the process is slow and the centre itself has had a complete refit and extension,  which I was invited to dig the very first hole of the build.

On Saturday, nearly 16 months since your generosity raised all that cash the centre got its official opening with the CEO of Macmillan and The Chief Executive of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in attendance to the mark the occasion.
