Charity Fundraiser

Stratton Place, Bridge St, Fakenham NR21 9AN

Thursday 30th May, 2019

On Wednesday 3rd January 2018 a colleagues husband suffered a major stroke and clot on the brain resulting in a 5 hour operation to remove a large section of his skull to remove the pressure on his brain. After a few days in Addenbrookes Hospital Staurt was taken to Kings Lynn Queen Elizabeth Stroke Unit to start physio. Stuart was there until April where with help of the stroke association he was able to go home. Stuart continued his theropy at home then in June he had the missing skull replaced he still continued to recovery from his stroke and everyday still has its challenges. But with the help of his two children Megan 9 Lucas 3 and wife Emma life is made better. So when we saw last year the Stroke Association campaign MAKE MAY PURPLE we decided we wanted to contribute in anyway we could, so we held two bake sales one in May and the other In October and with the contributions of local businesses in Fakenham we were able to hold a big prize raffle at the end of the year we managed to raise £1925.00. So this year we've decided to raise money for the Queen Elizabeth Stroke Unit to say thank you for the care and support they gave Stuart and his family during his stay there. We are planning two more bake sales which will be held 30th & 31st May then again 24th & 25th October at Flix Hair Design Hair salon. Also during May & July we will be selling raffle tickets for our prize draw which will be drawn on Thursday 1st August. We already have prizes coming in and hope to exceed the amount raised last year. So please come and join us and help us raise money for this fantastic charity so they can help more families like the Beaumonts get through a family member suffering a stroke.
