Delays to Saturday Market Place Regeneration

The Leader of West Norfolk Borough Council has asked businesses in the Saturday Market Place in King's Lynn to bear with them.

It's after a few delays to renovation works there, which will take the ongoing improvements through to December.

It’s partly due to a shortage of Yorkstone Slabs after it became a very popular building material across the UK over the last few years.

Councillor Nick Daubney says he's desperate to get the market place fully functioning again, and it will look good when it's done.

“We’ve got one chance to get this right and we want to use these materials – they simply look marvellous. I’m really looking forward to seeing the completed project.

It really is splendid as a heritage site, it’s absolutely gorgeous. I think it’s important to display it with superior material and make it a really nice place to enjoy. That will get people to visit, and get people to understand what its history is.”
