A man was dragged from a burning building in Wells last night after a fire broke out next door to the Lifeboat Inn.

4 Fire crews were called to Station Road in the town at about quarter past 7 last night.

Firefighters managed to get him out, and he was taken to hospital for treatment.

It's not yet known how the fire started but police say it's not suspicious.
