Cold Weather Adds Pressure to Roads and the NHS

Drivers need to slow down, and people feeling ill need to think hard before heading to A&E.

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital says they are up to capacity and have so few beds on the wards that they have declared a Black Alert.

The advice is to keep Accident and Emergency free for those with life threatening problems, and use GP Out of Hours, Pharmacies and 111.

Elsewhere, the ice has been catching drivers out, Norfolk police say they've been called to a number of collisions, while Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue say they've been called out to lots of incidents over the weekend too.

It's going to be the same for the next 24 hours, so the advice is to clear your windows properly, slow down, and just accept it's going to take longer to get there.
