It's been confirmed a woman has been killed after being struck by a train on the King's Lynn to London line.

The 23-year-old was found on the railway close to Dimmocks Cote crossing, near to Ely

Officers were called just after 6am yesterday morning and attended alongside the East of England Ambulance Service. Specialist officers are providing support to the family.

A British Transport spokesperson said:

"Her injuries are consistent with being struck by a train.

This incident is not being treated as suspicious and file will be prepared for the coroner."

Services between Cambridge and Ely were cancelled for more than 4 hours yesterday morning, causing major delays to journeys from King's Lynn.
