Dog rescued on Snettisham beach

Coastguard van

9:30am 17th July 2017

A dog has been rescued after getting stuck in the mud at Snettisham Beach at the weekend.

The Hunstanton coastguard were called around 7:30pm Saturday.

Before they reached the area, the UK Coastguard radioed that the dog had been rescued and they could return to station.

On the way back the Coastguard radioed a report of a kite surfer in trouble off Old Hunstanton, they spotted a kite surfer on the beach opposite the Lighthouse waving his arms.

He confirmed that he had been in trouble and the kite that was blowing out to sea was his.

The hovercraft took him on board, and went on to recover his kite.

They then landed him and kite on the beach at Old Hunstanton, where he was met by the local Coastguard response team.
