Very Crowded Room in Wisbech

Very Crowded Room in Wisbech

You could be a part of a big town portrait in Wisbech this month.

An artist is asking 10,000 of you to come and take part.

The idea is that every one gets their outline drawn, to create a big portrait of the town.

Each individual's presence will be celebrated in the artwork.

Tim Mann, the artist behind it told KLFM why it's important:

"It is a celebration.

"It's a nice chance to come to a community and say this is a fabulous community, lets come together and lets make something.

"So, rather than celebrating a community by doing one of those very generic portraits of a very important member of the community.

"We're going to be celebrating by taking the outline of every single member of the community.

"So it's an inclusive portrait."

"Everyone has their own presence.

"Every single portrait has it's own feeling.

"The mass of the community makes a difference.

"There are symbolisms behind lots of the differences between the different portraits.

"But, essentially what we're talking about here, is you will be able to make outlines out.

"But, how it comes together, really I don't know until it's finished."
