It's all hands on deck to help this vital Hunstanton service.

The RNLI are looking for more volunteers to join their crew in the town.

They need as many people as possible to make sure they have enough people to crew their lifeboat and hovercraft when they're needed.

That's why they're holding a recruitment event today (13th Jan) from 10:30am to 3:30pm at the Lifeboat Station.

But the RNLI do face a few issues when it comes to bringing in new volunteers.

Deputy Launching Authorities, Lifeboat and tractor crew have to live or work within five minutes of the station.

That's because they have to be able to respond quickly to an emergency at sea.

They're also looking for a Deputy Press and Digital Media Officer as well.

Dave Peppercorn is a crew member and joined back in 2012 and says you don't have to be a master sailor to sign up:

"I didn't really have much of a clue about the sea and boats so it was a steep learning curve.

"But I've been down to the headquarters at Poole and done several training courses down there.

"I've done things like sea survival, radar and boat handling.

"I was called out when in 2013 when the three sisters got who were swept out at Brancaster but we've also gone out to pick up people who've been washed out on a inflatable dolphin!

"So it's a real mix really."
