You'll be uncomfortable but you'll be saving your life.

That's the message coming from campaigners trying to raise awareness about cervical cancer in Norfolk.

Molly Banham from North Norfolk has been talking to KL.FM about this important issue.

Lot of women put off getting a smear test because their embarrassed about the process.

But catching the cancer early can be the difference between life and death.

Finding cancerous cells before they develop regularly saves lives.

Embarrassment of dropping your draws

Molly said:

"So many women don't go and get their smear tests but if you're uncomfortable for five seconds - then you could be saving your life.

"No one likes to do it but you shouldn't be embarrassed by dropping your draws in front of someone.

"I had to get my friend to go and she kept putting it off so many times but I said you have to go and get it

"I'm so she did because they found pre-cancerous cells which they removed.

"Think what if she didn't? She would have gone through things like chemo so this is really important."

Molly is working with fundraisers in Fakenham like Kayleigh Hanlon who's smear test showed she had cancerous cells, which were removed safely.

It's all to support the charities like Jo's Cervical Cancer Trust.
