It's "is upsetting and very disheartening" that people are abusing these West Norfolk volunteers.

That's the message coming from West Norfolk RSPCA.

They've been telling KLFM that people on Facebook have been swearing at and abusing their staff.

the charity is worried this abuse may hinder  work like this

The problem has been on the rise and it's having an effect on those there.

In a statement on their Facebook Page - the charity said:

"We would just like to remind everybody who comes to our page that we are an independent rehoming centre. This page is run solely by volunteers in their own free time and only used to highlight animals we have for rehoming.

"Sadly we are seeing an increase in swearing and horrible comments being left (the curse of facebook, we know) which is upsetting and very disheartening and not why we run this page and these comments will no longer be tolerated.

"If people have concerns over animal welfare issues please contact the centre or main RSPCA Helpline directly, not a facebook page.
