It's not some dark wizardry! Gandalf is really coming to King's Lynn!

Sir Ian McKellen is setting off to 80 theatres in towns and cities across the country to mark his birthday.

Next April - the acting legend will come to the Guildhall as part of the King's Lynn Shakespeare Festival at the Guildhall.

All of the profit and fees from the shows will go back to independent venues like the Guildhall.

Sir Ian said:

"The best way an actor can support regional theatre is by going to work in it."

He is best known to audiences around the world for his performances in Lord of the Rings and the X-Men series.

But Sir Ian McKellen first made a name for himself through his acclaimed Shakespeare performances.

He will be in King's Lynn from 27th to 28th April 2019.
