It's rubbish news about the people who collect your bins in Fakenham.

The company who run the service are in serious debt.

It's been revealed the Kier Group owe £620mill and are struggling financially.

That's led to serious concerns in North Norfolk District Council.

But Fakenham's councilor was told these issues would not be discussed at the first meeting after the news was revealed over the weekend.

Annie Claussen-Reynolds said:

"As this was the first meeting after the news broke, I was simply wanting to make an important matter known at the earliest possible opportunity.

"However, I was gob-smacked by how quickly the question was shut down."

NNDC didn't discuss the issue as other councilors had not been made aware of the update.

Claussen-Reynolds said she will raise the issue again later this month.

A Kier spokesman said:

"We have been working corroboratively with North Norfolk District Council since 2011 and are committed to delivering services to the 55,000 properties we visit across the county."
