What Wisbech residents wanted to hear about their Council Tax

Published by Chris Craddock at 5:45am 22nd February 2019.

What Wisbech residents wanted to hear when it comes to our council tax.

Fenland District Council agreed not to increase it last night.

Those voting were given two options - freeze the council tax or increase it by 1.9 percent.

Cllr Hay said they should support the increase because of the financial risks facing the council.

But Cllr Boden backed the freeze saying the local authority could review its work and there were additional savings that could be made while finding new ways to better deliver services.

This was then voted through for Fenland District Council's 2019/20 budget.
