Over 50 King's Lynn students joined the fight for our planet's future.

Campaigners stood outside KES Academy Sixth Form on Gaywood Road to raise awareness about climate change today (15th March).

They were made up of KES students and those from Springwood Sixth Form and College of West Anglia.

It was organised by 17-year-old Harvey Luker who said:

"It is of great importance to highlight these issues as they are key to our generation's future.

"It shouldn't just be a young people's issue - it is everyone's issue."

It was part of the #FridaysForFuture movement which started in August 2018.

Since then schools from across the country have been taking part in strikes to raise awareness about the issue.

West Norfolk campaigners used recycled placards and shared their message with members of the passing public.

A spokesperson for KES said:

"As an academy we completely support our pupil's right to free speech around this issue.

"As teachers and parents we know that climate change is a major concern moving forward and have asked the pupils organising this event to speak in assemblies next week to explain the issues to the rest of the students at KES.
