How you can find out whether it's safe to swim at Hunstanton beach.

Or Heacham, or Wells, or any beach in the UK.

A new smartphone app 'Safer Seas' has been launched which tracks pollution and real-time water quality information.

More than 350 locations across the UK are included as part of the system.

The app was developed by the environmental charity Surfers Against Sewage.

It allows users to check whether there are any 'water quality alerts in their local area.'

As well as looking at pollution, the app rates beaches across the UK.

The main beach at Hunstanton currently has a one-star rating of 'sufficient while Heacham has three stars, which is 'excellent'.

It also gives a brief description of the area, along with what activities you can and what facilities there are.
