It doesn't matter how you get around, we all want to feel safe on the roads in West Norfolk.

Recently we've seen several serious crashes involving cars and motorcyclists.

KLFM is trying to raise more awareness about road safety in our county.

Over the last few months we've reported on several high profile collisions.

Also recently it confirmed a cyclist died after a collision involving a car in Leverington.

We spoke to Richard an instructor from C&A Motorcycle training in King's Lynn.

fatal crash sign

He told us what he notices when he's out on our roads on his motorbike:

"A lot of it is too much speed for the environment they're in.

And it's not whether they're speeding it's too crowded for the speed that their doing.

There seems to be this mad rush to get nowhere fast.

The public don't seem to have any sympathy for other vehicles."

norfolk police road closure at scarning

Norfolk police are running a 2 wheel campaign until Saturday to raise awareness for riders and cyclists

They'll be out in the county making sure they're wearing the correct gear and have good knowledge on the roads.

Richard said wearing the right kit is vital:

"You can buy a new you can't buy a new skin it's that simple.

If you want to know what it's like get you cheese grater and rub it across your face.

Anyone who doesn't ride in appropriate equipment they're just waiting to die."
