Advice as bad weather in Norfolk continues

We're almost through the most of it but we still need to stay safe in Norfolk.

That's because we've already several crashes across our county due to the wet conditions.

A weather warning remains in place for today (12th June) but should start to ease by tomorrow (13th June).

It means braking times are lengthened, visibility is reduced and increases the likelihood of mechanical failures.

So Norfolk Road Police have this advice for anyone travelling in these conditions.

Sgt Chris Harris said small changes can make a big difference when it comes to staying safe.

He said:

"Don't rely on automatic lights to turn on - make sure you turn them on manually.

"This will put your front headlights and it will also illuminate the rear lights on your car as well.

"So remember wipers on, lights on. Like my doppelgänger says "No lighty - no likey!"
