A big funding boost to support parents and carers in Norfolk.

Get Me Out The Four Walls is a way of getting local parents out of the house by organising meet ups in their area.

The charity has now received £10,000 from the National Lottery Community Fund.

Get Me Out The Four Walls was established in 2015 by Norfolk mum Naomi Farrow.

The charity believes getting parents out of the house helps prevent the on-set of parental mental illnesses such as postnatal depression, and helps aid stabilisation of mental health.

They also offer support for those struggling with mental health by offering 1 to 1 peer support and postnatal depression-specific social meets.

Cristiana Germeno struggled with postnatal depression but got the help she needed from Get Me Out The Four Walls.

She's now one of their ambassadors for West Norfolk.

"I don't even think I would be here which is a very difficult thing to come to terms with.

You think - I have five beautiful children so how could I even think these things.

I've experienced domestic violence and struggled with my mental health but having these conversations was a real lifeline."

"It is hard - it is tough and sometimes you can't see a way through it.

But there is always a way.

It's an illness - it's nothing you've done and you can get through it. It's not because you're a bad parent or you don't love your children."

Cristiana is now looking for more people to join her in West Norfolk as the charity expands here.
