A man has been arrested on suspicion of robbery in Cambridgeshire.

It's after police released CCTV images and appealed for information yesterday (12th June)

The 52-year-old man from Whittlesford was arrested yesterday evening after information was provided by a member of the public.

He remains in custody at Parkside Police Station.

Officers were called just after 4pm yesterday to reports of a robbery at the Cambridge Building Society in High Street, Sawston.

Bank staff told officers that a man entered the building armed with a gun and demanded money from cashiers inside.

Staff retreated round the back of the counters and the man then left empty-handed, fleeing on foot.
