Giving us a glimpse at what goes on when they pick up a 999 call.

Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue have been sharing an inside look at their control room.

They show how they answer emergency calls, dispatch fire engines and talk to crews.

In one clip we see one control room operator pick up an emergency call about a caravan fire in Wisbech.

Thankfully the fire was out when crews arrived and they used a positive pressure ventilation fan to clear the caravan of smoke.

You can also see how in between calls, the operators updating crew availability, so in the unlikely event that all systems went down they still know which fire engines are available.
