Cause of King's Lynn teen's death confirmed

A King's Lynn teenager died as a result of a severe head injury.

Norfolk Police have confirmed that Reece Hornibrook passed away because of the injuries he suffered during an assault.

The 17-year-old was found in a critical condition in the early hours of Sunday morning (7th July) on Saddlebow Road.

Reece's family said he had a heart of gold

Reece was taken to the QE but staff couldn't save him and he passed away on Tuesday (9th July).

A post mortem has now been carried out and it's found the preliminary cause of death was severe head injuries.

Reece's family released this statement:

"He was a gentle giant, always laughing and joking and would do anything for anyone.

"We will remember him as having a huge heart. He was popular and he was our hero."

31-year-old Liam Russell from Metcalf Avenue appeared in Norwich Magistrates Court on Wednesday (10th July) charged with GBH.

He returned to court this morning and was granted conditional bail until a further hearing on 7th August
