They helped 97 people between November and March.

Which is why the Winter's Night Shelter is a vital lifeline for homeless people in West Norfolk.

They're already preparing for the winter months which can be extremely dangerous for those without a place to stay.

It’s September, the new school term is starting, there’s a bit of autumn in the air and the Night Shelter is beginning the 2019 search for new volunteers.

They're holding a number of information and training evenings for those who are interested in helping out:

  • 1st October 7pm St John's Church in the Walks, Blackfriars Road
  • 2nd October 7pm All Saints Church, North Wootton
  • 8th October 7pm Cornerstone Baptist Church, Wisbech
  • 15th October 7pm St Faith's Church Hall, Gaywood

It will cost £90K to keep the Night Shelter open for the 2019-20 winter season, including rent, staffing costs, equipment and essential building work so they're also looking for financial donations.
