Words of support for King's Lynn travelling showmen

There's been nothing but support for the Edwards' from the KLFM listeners.

They've faced prejudice from residents in Narborough as they prepare to move there.

Robert and his wife Keely are travelling showmen and dedicate their lives to providing entertainment at fairs, carnivals and other events across the country.

They currently live in King's Lynn but Robert recently bought a plot of land in Narborough.

Their plans for the land were to park their static caravan so the children had a base for if they were on the road and to park the rides and travelling caravans when they are back in town.

There, the family had hoped to build a life and a home together, where they can base themselves in a static caravan and store the two rides they own while they are not in use.

Breckland Council have since received complaints from residents, most of which mistake the family for Romany Gypsies, which they aren't.

The lifestyle calls for a very specific type of home, which has to fit with a criteria set by The Showmen’s Guild of Great Britain requiring them to be close to education facilities and other amenities, without imposing on existing settlements.

Robert has been really thankful for the support from the KLFM listeners.
