Porpoise gets stranded on Heacham beach

A poorly porpoise became stranded on Heacham beach over the weekend. 

The Coastal Veterinary Group were called out by British Divers Marine Life Rescue on Saturday evening (7th Sep). 

 It had a severe injury around its blowhole and several other wounds. 

 

After consultation with specialist vets it was decided to put the porpoise to sleep.

The Coastal Veterinary Group said on Facebook: 

"A sad ending but at least we could help end this fascinating and graceful creature's suffering."
