Bogus calls in South Wootton

Bogus calls in South Wootton

King's Lynn Police are asking residents to be aware of bogus phone calls.

They posted on Facebook that a resident in South Wootton received a phone call from someone making false claims.

The person said that Norfolk Fire and Rescue and Norfolk Constabulary would be calling at their house to conduct a survey.

The police say this is a bogus caller as neither NRFS or Norfolk Constabulary are doing surveys.

King's Lynn Police are advising people on what to do if you find yourself in a similary situation:

  • If you receive a similar call, hang up immediately.
  • If anyone calls at your home, always check their ID to confirm that they are who they say.
  • If in doubt, ring Norfolk Constabulary on 101 to confirm the officer is genuine.
