Major roadworks could cause traffic delays our area at the end of the month.

The A17 Cross Keys swing bridge is being resurfaced from the 30th of September with some advanced works the day before.

It will have a significant impact on the south of Lincolnshire and Norfolk bound traffic with temporary traffic lights in place.

The route is a major corridor for agri-food industry with a high volume of HGVs.

The current bridge surfacing has become worn in places since the last resurfacing in 2007 due to the high volumes of traffic using the A17.

A trial of the temporary traffic lights happened last week (4th and 5th September) while they carried out out some installation works.

Pedestrian access will be unaffected throughout and the operation of the bridge will still be maintained for marine vessels.
