He was Dereham's very own superhero and was loved by so many.

Denver Clinton passed away earlier this year after battling a rare cancer called neuroblastoma.

So Melanie wants to help other sick children in his memory and has decided to hold a collection of pyjamas for youngsters in hospital.

She explained how she came up with the idea:

"On a visit to the hospital to see Denver he was very poorly and unable to keep his feed in so had a very upset tummy, this meant he went through lots of pairs of pj’s then ran out of clean ones.

It got me thinking, often children are frequently soiling their pjs through being poorly or often come in without any through A&E.

This Christmas I have decided to buy a couple of sets of pj’s for the Children’s Ward at the NNUH."

Melanie told KLFM she thought Denver would be happy with the idea:

"Whether you were with him for five minutes or an hour he'd make you fall in love with him.

Denver loved to make people smile, whether that was playing or being daft or just giving you a cuddle he would always put a smile on your face.

I think he would love to know that he was helping all these children just smile, even for a minute just to smile and to feel comfortable in a pair of pyjamas because he loved his 'jamas."

You can get involved here.

They need as many pairs as possible for boys and girls of all ages.

The only thing Melanie asks is that they are new and unworn as some of the children may have weakened immune systems and could get ill.
