Snettisham is now the setting of a brand new children's book.

Author Damian Carruthers grew up in the village.

The Cheese Miner on the Moon an action/adventure book set in space, the book also carried a strong message that we cannot continue to treat our planet in the way that we do without consequence.

Damian told KLFM:

"The children now are the next generation and they're the people that are going to inherit this planet from us.

I look back to when I was a child, and TV and cartoons and the books I read and films were such a huge influence.

And they do install morals in us at such a young age and hopefully, I can do the same."

The book focuses on hero, Nash, a Cheese Miner, working on the moon.

One day a Nash meets a stranger in a chance encounter, one that will change his life forever and also change the fate of our beloved planet earth.

There will also be an audiobook with an original score.

Damian says he thinks it will be great for local kids to see a West Norfolk village featured in book:

"I want to inspire kids that are from Snettisham, or Hunstanton or Dersingham or the local villages that they can be anything they want to be in life.

They can be a muscian they can be a writer it doesn't matter where you're from if you're good at something, you have a passion for it, nothing is impossible."

The team behind the book have set a goal to raise £1000 to get the book released, so far it has been completely self-funded but they just need that final push now.
