A new support group for bereaved parents in King's Lynn launches next week (7th Jan).

Whispers from Wings is for anyone who has experienced baby loss.

It's been described as a safe space to speak as little or as much as you would like.

Sadly over 5,600 babies are stillborn or die shortly after birth every year in the UK, which amounts to over 100 every week.

A large number of miscarriages go unreported as many can be dealt with at home so there is no clear number of how many occur every year but it is thought to be that 1 in 4 pregnancies end in early miscarriage (up to 14 weeks) and 1 in 100 pregnancies end in late miscarriage.

The group said on Facebook:

"We hope to put our heads together to plan some events to raise awareness around baby loss in the Kings Lynn area this year.

We also would like to make a list of possible fundraisers to help with our local bereavement suite at the Queen Elisabeth hospital.

This will be a friendly group where anyone who has experienced baby loss is welcome."

The first meet up is being held at 7pm on Tuesday 7th Jan at the Knights Hill Hotel in the Library.
