A writer from Hunstanton is making waves with his new play.

His first love has always been writing but after working at the Princess Theatre he took to writing plays and acting too.

His latest creation is a murder mystery set in the theatre.

He said his go-to place is Hunstanton's prom:

"I'm very lucky that out of my bedroom window I can see the sea and that's my go-to place so if I need thinking time I'll just walk along the prom in Hunstanton and I'll get my ideas...sometimes on purpose and sometimes by accident!

"Whatever mood I want to create, whether it's a happy mood or maybe a bit more dramatic, the sea does tend to help whatever mood I'm going for.

"I started working at the local theatre, the Princess in Hunstanton, and I worked there for over a decade so seeing all the shows, working behind the scenes, also on stage at an am-dram level it kind of paved the way.

"Hunstanon and Norwich - when I write a play I envisage those places even though that might not be where they end up being set."

The Empty Stage is an exciting whodunit that is tailored to the stage of each theatre it's performed in.

It follows the cast of a play after the body of a rising star, Carina Harris, is found. The director turns detective to try and find the killer.

You can see the play at The Garage Theatre, Norwich on Saturday the 18th of January at 7.30pm. Buy your tickets here.
