They're asking King's Lynn to pull together to help those affected by the devastating bushfires in Australia.

Three rotary clubs here are teaming up to raise money for the victims and they're holding collections tomorrow (11th Jan).

They haven't held a fundraiser like this since the tsunami in 2004 where they raised £20,000, with £10,000 being raised in one day.

Rotary Club members will set up three collection points and will be there between 9am and 4pm:

  • Outside Boots on the King's Lynn High Street
  • Outside M&S on the King's Lynn High Street
  • Asda South Wootton.

On the Rotary Club website it says:

"Rotary clubs in Australia are helping to assist the professional first response organisations with recovery and restoration, and helping people who have been displaced.

To support the Rotary efforts, Rotary Australia District Governors have established a central fund which can be used to support victims of the devastation caused by the fires.

Rotary in the UK is once again taking the lead to assist and looking to provide support for families in need.

To this end, several Rotary Districts and Clubs have established street collections or other projects."
