A Fenland Officer says they've had their faith in social media restored after an interaction with a kindly stranger.

The officer was in a popular fast-food chain getting a coffee when they were approached by a woman.

She gave the officer a meal deal voucher and thanked them 'for all the police do' and told them to 'stay safe'.

The officer took to Facebook to share the good deed.

They said they hadn't posted to the Fenland police page for a while as they've been 'somewhat put off by the haters'

"I felt somewhat awkward to accept, but so kind and heartfelt was the offer I duly accepted.

Many thanks to the kind lady; faith in using social media updates restored."
