Your donations helped 77 people in King's Lynn last week.

That's how many locals needed support from the foodbank, including 28 children.

The weeks after Christmas can hit people very hard financially.

Helen works there and says generosity from the community is needed all year round.

"Unfortunately, now we are giving out more food than we have ever done and we're giving out around 3.5 tonnes a month at the moment.

Even with the donations that we've had which have been so generous and the people of King's Lynn always astound me at how generous they are, it's wonderful.

But we're getting in around 2.5 tonnes a month."

This is the worst week of the year for people reaching crisis point over their debt with one person every 10 seconds calling the Citizens Advice Bureau for help.

"There's more pressure on people, in terms of people's energy bills, they go up, people are using more lighting more heating so that's a big draw on people's wages.

No matter how sensible we are with our money it's always tricky for everybody to provide."

The King's Lynn Foodbank is also looking for more volunteers:

"Many hands make light work!

We're looking for people who are free on a Monday or Thursday 12-3pm to join our King's Lynn Distribution Centre teams.

You will be part of a friendly team to help to pack and hand out bags of food to our clients, offer refreshments and a conversation."
