Downham Market and Gaywood libraries are encouraging children to reach for their mental health.

The Reading Well booklist to support kids' wellbeing has been created as part of Children's Mental Health Week and includes authors Michael Rosen, Tom Percival, Zanib Mian and Joseph Coelho.

Cllr Margaret Dewsbury, Norfolk County Council's Cabinet Member for Communities, said:

"While this list is mainly for children aged 7-11, it includes titles aimed at a wider range of reading levels to support less confident readers. We want to encourage as many children as possible to try these books. Siblings or carers could also read with them to help encourage enjoyment and boost their confidence."

The list was developed by the Reading Agency and includes books to help children understand their feelings and worries, and help them cope with tough times, with the launch arranged to coincide with Children's Mental Health Week.

It's free to request and reserve the books on the list, with he titles aimed at children aged 7-11.
