A King’s Lynn man has been found not guilty of the manslaughter of a 17-year-old.

32-year-old Liam Russell was unanimously acquitted by a jury today (Tuesday 10 March 2020) at Norwich Crown Court after a seven-day trial.

Russell, of Metcalf Avenue, had denied the manslaughter of teenager Reece Hornibrook who suffered severe head injuries after he was assaulted in Saddlebow Road on 7 July 2019.

Reece died two days later in hospital on 9 July.

Investigating officer, Detective Inspector Lewis Craske, from the Norfolk and Suffolk Major Investigation Team said:

"This is a tragic case in which there are no winners.

"The jury have decided that Mr Russell’s actions were lawful and that he acted in self-defence and we respect their decision.”
